- All the ingredients in these tacos are natural – no unhealthy additives.
- Super-fast to make.
- Good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner
- Like my other recipes, I don’t include exact measurements. You can easily figure out what works for you.
Time to make: around 15-20 minutes. Mainly the time it takes for you to cook and slice the meat. (I buy the pico de gallo + chopped onion pre-made. That leaves the rice to be microwaved.)
Ingredients #
- 1lb+ of steak tips, cooked medium-rare.
- Siete Spicy Taco seasoning
- 100% whole wheat tortillas
- Siete vegan refried ranchero beans
- Fage sour cream
- Minute brown and wild rice
- Red onion
- Pico de gallo
- Grated cheddar (or other cheese as you like)
Notes:
- After cooking, I remove the steak tips, and leave the fat in the pan. Then add the taco seasoning, with some water and turn burner to low.
- Slice the meat, return it to the pan so it’s coated in the seasoning.
- The Minute Brown & Wild Rice comes in a BPA-free container. No preservatives. Gluten-free. 100% whole grain. Non-GMO verified. I use just a few spoonfuls on the taco. Then put the leftovers in with the leftover meat, and refrigerate in a glass container.
Prep:
- I heat the tortilla around 10 seconds in microwave
- Spread some sour cream down the center. Add a schmear of refried beans.
- Add the pico de gallo, onions
- Top with meat and cheese.
Extras (suit to taste) #
- Weber’s Chicago steakhouse seasoning for the meat
- Herdez Taqueria Street Sauce (Roja) - (I like to add this, bit by bit, as I eat the taco.)
Enjoy!
N.B.: I first tried the Siete refried black beans for this recipe, but they overwhelmed all the other flavors. Stick with the Ranchero (pinto) beans.
